{"id":1812,"date":"2018-10-12T03:50:59","date_gmt":"2018-10-12T07:50:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spreadhappyness.com\/?p=1812"},"modified":"2018-10-12T01:59:16","modified_gmt":"2018-10-12T05:59:16","slug":"week-213-find-a-way-to-say-thank-you-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spreadhappyness.com\/?p=1812","title":{"rendered":"Week #213 &#8211; Find a way to say &#8220;Thank You&#8221; this week!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.spreadhappyness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Follow-a.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1249\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.spreadhappyness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Follow-a-300x225.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.spreadhappyness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Follow-a.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.spreadhappyness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Follow-a.jpg?resize=624%2C468&amp;ssl=1 624w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.spreadhappyness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Follow-a.jpg?w=640&amp;ssl=1 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Week #213 &#8211; Find a way to say &#8220;Thank You&#8221; this week!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Greetings Happyness Tribe!<\/p>\n<p>This past week I was reminded of the simple art of expressing gratitude: saying &#8220;thank you&#8221;, \u00a0writing a note of appreciation, publicly acknowledging someone&#8217;s effort.<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s a throwback post to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spreadhappyness.com\/?p=1478\">Week #162<\/a>\u00a0and a reminder to find a way to say &#8220;thank you&#8221; this week!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Someone in sales receives a letter from a customer (sent to the boss) praising his above-and-beyond efforts during a requisition.<\/li>\n<li>Someone else in a restaurant receives a nice note written on the bottom of their credit card slip thanking him for his excellent service (and hopefully accompanied by a nice big tip!).<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">And finally, a performer at a local venue takes the time to publicly thank the facility&#8217;s staff for taking care of him and making him feel so welcome.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Three separate incidents&#8230;absolutely no cost to anyone&#8230;and plenty of benefit to go around.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s easy to complain. \u00a0It&#8217;s easy to notice what is wrong, what might not be up to par, or what was missed. \u00a0And the internet has made it SO convenient &#8212; we can even do it anonymously!<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s a lot more fun catching people doing things right! \u00a0There are probably people you encounter every day who take care of you, who serve you first, who meet your needs without you even asking or saying a word.<\/p>\n<p>Have you thanked them?<\/p>\n<p>Have you let them know you appreciate them?<\/p>\n<p>Have you praised them? \u00a0Loudly? \u00a0Publicly?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Your Happyness Challenge for the Week Ahead: Find a way to say &#8220;Thank You!&#8221; \u00a0<\/strong>Be on the lookout for people doing things right this week! \u00a0And when you find them, be sure to thank them &#8212; loudly and publicly! \u00a0Be specific&#8230;and let them know what made the difference. \u00a0Our culture is saturated in complaints, criticisms, and score-keeping. \u00a0Be one of the good guys and let someone know you see them, you appreciate them, and you&#8217;re not afraid to say something nice!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Spread Happyness &#8212; catch someone doing something right! \u00a0(And better yet, tell someone about it!)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><em>10\/12\/18 by Grace Church<br \/>\n<\/em><em>\u00a9 Grace Church<br \/>\ngrace@spreadhappyness.com<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Week #213 &#8211; Find a way to say &#8220;Thank You&#8221; this week!
