Week #48 – Summer Fun Challenge: \u201cJust Watch!”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Greetings Happyness Tribe — and\u00a0welcome to week NINE of our Summer Fun Challenge!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The summer is flying by! \u00a0We’re having fun…playing games…riding the waves…getting stuff done…walking the boards…taking some lessons…and even getting\u00a0some quiet time.<\/p>\n

Good work, everyone!<\/p>\n

If activity comes in waves…then the rest between “sets” is important. \u00a0(A “set” is a group of waves within a swell.) \u00a0As a surfer, that’s when you stop\u00a0to catch your breath, assess your position, maybe rest your arms, and look out at the horizon. \u00a0This is when you’ll see most surfers sitting up on their boards…waiting for the next set.<\/p>\n

And while you’re doing that,\u00a0you might just take a minute to look around for a second — and see something EXTRAORDINARY!<\/p>\n

(Rob was known to paddle out…even on flat days…just to look around!)<\/p>\n

This past week has been full of storms, rainbows, butterflies, sunflowers, and meteor showers…<\/p>\n

…did you stop long enough to see any of it?!<\/p>\n

Your assignment for this week: JUST WATCH! \u00a0<\/strong>The week ahead is bound to bring you some sort of lull — a delay, jam, detour, long line, stall, set-back, or some kind of hold-up. \u00a0Don’t just wait it out…WATCH! \u00a0Watch for rainbows…watch the wildlife…watch your dogs run in the yard or your cat dreaming a dream. \u00a0Watch the wind blow or the grass grow. \u00a0But\u00a0<\/span>most important, watch your children or loved ones at work or at play. \u00a0Whatever you do, open your eyes and be AWAKE\u00a0to the world around you!<\/p>\n

Don’t just wait…WATCH! \u00a0(And get ready for the next set!)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n– Day at the ballpark (Minor League stadiums are great, too!)
\n– Outside concerts\/music events
\n– Hot air balloon ride\/festival
\n– Pool volleyball (a Church-family classic!)
\n– Take yourself or someone you love for ice cream!
\n<\/span>– Weed your front yard garden (and talk with neighbors and folks walking by!)
\n– Lose yourself in wonderful music, either listening or singing
\n–\u00a0Play in the grassy backyard
\n– Play with your dog (or maybe your neighbor’s dog!)
\n<\/span>– Sing karaoke
\n– Explore your town, county, state\u2026through food and drink!
\n– Visit a farm
\n– Make plans to see friends you don\u2019t often get to see (or schedule a gathering!)
\n– Blind-folded Make-overs! \u00a0(Great for a rainy day! \u00a0Bonus points if you go out in public after!)<\/p>\n
