Week #75 – Rough Road? \u00a0(Take a closer look!)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Greetings All — and Happy Friday!<\/p>\n

I saw this road sign last week\u00a0and just had to talk about it! \u00a0To all my friends in areas battling winter storm after storm — it just doesn\u2019t look too rough, does it?!<\/p>\n

But despite the blue sky and palm trees, something\u2019s just not right.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the same with people.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to assume a smiling face, sunny demeanor, or happy exterior means that life is nothing but smooth sailing. \u00a0After all, smiling comes easy when everything\u2019s going your way!<\/p>\n

Right?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not so. \u00a0There are people whose bodies reflexively\u00a0smile in\u00a0conflict — and pain. \u00a0Whose toothy grins\u00a0are an ancient defense mechanism designed to assert power\u00a0— or plead for\u00a0help.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t know until we take a closer look. \u00a0Something might just not be right.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your Challenge for the Week Ahead: Take a closer look!<\/strong>\u00a0 We all have those people in our lives who WE count on for a friendly smile. \u00a0Don’t take them for granted — take a closer look! \u00a0Ask them how they are doing, how things are going, or what they are up to. \u00a0And if they are smiling out of genuine pleasure — then bask in it! \u00a0But if they are smiling out of pain or conflict — then encourage them, support them, and maybe this time…be the one who smiles back!<\/p>\n

Makes you wish we all had a road sign, hmm?<\/p>\n
